Scott Wells
Dr. Wells grew up in the small Arizona town of Lake Havasu City, a sunny destination spot on the Colorado River. He initially pursued a career in missionary aviation and completed a year and a half of flight training and Bible college. Although he had a private pilot’s license and loved to fly, he found himself drawn to the rigors of mathematics and engineering.
He married his high-school sweetheart in 1983, obtained an engineering degree, and entered the Air Force as an aeronautical engineer in 1987. His Air Force career spanned twenty-one years, during which he earned a masters and PhD in aeronautical engineering, specializing in feedback control theory. Dr. Wells had the distinct honor and pleasure of teaching aero engineering at the Air Force Academy. While there, he reached the academic rank of Associate Professor and served as an adjunct instructor at the Air Force Test Pilot School.
In 2008, he retired from the Air Force at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, moved back to Arizona, and took a position as a senior engineer for a defense contractor. His analytical and military background, combined with his lifelong studies of the scriptures, form a unique canvas for his speculative world of multidimensional realms and angel physics in the CROSS INTENTS trilogy.
Dr. Wells lives in Arizona where he continues to work as an engineer and write. He and his wife have three children. He enjoys playing saxophone and is active on the worship team at church.
They put the London Bridge on a peninsula in Lake Havasu and dredged out a channel to make an island.
My first car. 1970 Dodge Charger. It was totaled in a hit and run while parked at the grocery store. Very sad day.
Learning to fly at the School of Missionary Aviation, 1981, with best friends and roommates, Todd and Byron.
Discussing the beauty of gyroscopic precession in the rigid body flight dynamics equations of motion.
I was a program manager for basic research grants. Here is my view of Hilton Head while at a conference during proposal evaluation time.
Five cousins. My kids: Ben, Lacey, Eli. My brother’s: Jenna, Tim. Interesting tidbit: my main book characters are Zaben, Lacidar, Elric, Jenli, and Timrok.
